Papo
Today Louis really wanted to go to Papo's house. At the park he was playing, "train ticket salesman" (see photo) and when I asked him where our train was going he said "Papo".
Later he climbed into his car seat and when I asked where we were going he said, "Papo". I explained that we couldn't make the drive to Papos and back in time for me to feed Jean.

Wow.
What a week!
We had a visit from Grandpa Bill (who Louis referred to as Papo). Very fun and I think Lou enjoyed having someone to bunk with in his room. Lot's of early morning playtime.
Jean has been a real handful this week. Monday and Tuesday night were truly awful. She was up ALL NIGHT, wanting to nurse, be held, be with us in bed. I started to suspect I might not be leaving enough milk for her during the day and have since increased the amount of milk she gets in her bottle. That seemed to help the situation a bit. Though she's still not sleeping as good as I think a baby of her age and weight should be.
Louis has 2 more preschool classes this semester and will be continuing that when it starts up again in January. He had another show & tell and took his baseball mitt for the second time.
I don't have any new pictures, will try and take a few soon!

Here's what we did today:
*Went to pick out a tree to plant. Louis had the final choice between two trees Andy and I had narrowed it down to. Louis chose the dogwood. We also got a tiny christmas tree. For those of you in the know, the holiday tree is a big step for us.
*Louis successfully climbed out of his crib for the first time.
*We had a dance party. Jean watched from the couch where she sat propped up and moved her arm to the rhythm.
*Pumpkin bread. Yum.

What A Day...
Here's Louis right after dinner playing his Great Grandpa McCarley's guitar.
Jean had 2 doctors appointments today. At the pediatrician she got a vaccine and weighed in at just under 20lbs and we were given the green light to go ahead and try and give her some solid food. We're gonna start with sweet potatoes this weekend. It's a month earlier than we started with Louis, but as the bib says, she's a CHOWHOUND and lately she's been eyeing my food as I eat. Perhaps it's time...
Her second appointment was with the eye doctor. The good news is that her blocked duct is the "good" kind. Meaning it's the kind that has a 50% chance to heal on it's own before she's 1 year old. I didn't know there was a "bad" kind, but apparently there is and it's caused by nearsightedness or something or other.
The Dr. gave us more antibiotics and said it's okay to stop and start them for the next few months as we wait and see if it clears up. If it doesn't she'll go to the hospital in Georgetown and get some laughing gas (can I get some too please?) and as he put it, "I'll roto-root her blocked duct and she'll be all set to go." WELL OKAY THEN!
Louis was kind of a nutjob today. Quintessential 2 year old moments, nonstop. Somehow he got the idea that it's funny to bite Jean. What the hell?

Update
Jean is getting her first tooth. The bottom left (or right) depending on how you look at it. It's just barely broken the gums, but OUCH!! When she chews on my finger it's no picnic.
Louis came down the stairs this morning and looked out the window at the tree, which no longer has any leaves on it. A few days ago it still had them, but this morning he noticed they were all gone and said, "uh-oh". We had a talk about how winter is coming and leaves come back in the spring, but that it was gonna be a LONG time before that happened.
Louis is talking more and more. And he recognizes certain letters, very cool. His favorite letter right now is "B".

Dinnertime
