I swear it's just beet juice...



Louis did not have a terrible accident or bludgeon someone with an ax. (But wow, if he had the motor skills required to do that at 7 months, we'd have a pretty remarkable/disturbed child on our hands).
The first beets that Louis had were golden beets, you know, the kind that are a mellow orange-yellow color. They did not have the staining qualities that red beets have, and even though the red beets come with a "diaper warning" (your child's urine and poop might be pinkish red), I didn't think much of it. While I was cooking and pureeing them I thought, "Man, these are a real mess to work with." Not even making the connection or thinking about what they would be like to feed Louis. What a fool I am! Here's what tonights dinner looked like. Lots of fun, he seemed to like them and had a blast squishing the puree around on his tray. Mission accomplished.
